OFSEAC is chartered to push the private sector into the space industry beyond the supply of parts to various governmental bodies. We have reached a point in our technological and sociological status that we can make manned trips into space, but this shift in paradigm is fought not only by the Governments who hold a current monopoly on space travel, but by larger groups who have stagnated exploration on all levels. They are more comfortable with the idea that space is this vast area that only governments get access to.
OFSEAC members do not buy into that dated paradigm. We believe that mankind is on the edge of gaining a foothold into space. It only needs to take that step forward. The reason we perceive that governments should be the space explorer is the dated imagery on space travel put there by the groups currently in charge of the major space programs. Government spending is always considerably more on programs, and major innovation has always been driven by the Private Sector. Its time to turn out eyes to the sky and realize that many of our current energy and financial woes are waiting to be answered out there. Untapped resources and unmeasurable space to expand into. OFSEAC believes that it is time for us to take that next step.
